It is common knowledge although Bush keeps saying we're fighting terrorists there........ But I think it's premature to say they have been liberated.....no one really liberated there yet.
Things quieted down around Baghdad with the additional 30K troops of ours but perhaps even more important with change in allegiance of the Sunni's from against to for us to fight AlQaeda in Iraq..... We are paying the Sunni militia men $300/month. The Shiites of ? Sadr have also called a temporary truce and stopped killing Sunni's. That truce period is up now and nothing has happened yet. Non-Bush sources say that the Iranians had some influence on the Sadr militia.

But liberation.....I don't think so.
