Debbie Schlussel Heartbroken Over Her Former Congressman Boss’ Terrorism Conspiracy Indictment By: Bill W. on Thursday, January 17th, 2008 at 2:01 PM - PST
Debbie Schlussel, a minor-league pundit wingnut who sees Muslim terrorists around every corner and questions whether Obama should be president “when we are fighting the war of our lives against Islam,” went on Fox and Friends today to talk about how it could possibly be that the former Republican Congressman she used to work for was just indicted in a terrorist fund-raising conspiracy.
crooksandliars.com
Debbie Schlussel: I am so shocked and saddened by this. It’s heartbreaking because when I worked for Mark Siljander he was probably the most anti-Islamist Congressman on the Hill. He was the one who most understood the Jihadist threat decades before 9-11 and before most people in America I think really understood the seriousness of it.
She just can’t explain how it is that her “anti-Islamist Congressman” could have done what he’s accused of except that he must have needed the money.
And John Cole noticed something funny about that old ID she posted.

“If Mark Siljander was helping Islamic terrorists against America, then no-one is immune from succumbing to these forces of evil. If true, it’s extremely disappointing and demoralizing to me.”
Since any of us, even the most patriotic of citizens, may succumb to these “forces of evil”, maybe Mitt was right, and we should “double Guantanomo”. Either that, or people should learn to differentiate between self-professing “born-again Christians” and those who demonstrate their Christian faith by their actions.
Ms. Schlussel should have known that a “tree is known by its fruit”.

This is just the beginning of what will soon come. We will learn that it was the USA and the Saudis that set this hold thing up for greed. Notice how the US had people paid millions of dollars to fix election over seas. Now you know why the White House was so fixated on the TV show 24. It was what these idiots used but now the players aka US got played by the Saudis. This Congressman is one of many who have helped with the crimes committed by the Bush Administration. What’s truly sad is to see good Republicans support the criminals and the current Administration. Talk about heads in the sand the Republican Party was must better then this. As we see Rev. Huck a true crazy Pastor out for money using God the same way Bush did. Mitt is lying to everyone who will listen to get a vote. Rudy is just out there hanging. If the American people don’t vote for a Democrat President look for the Saudis to move in as they call in their loans and pick up more shares of US banks. Republicans want to send immigrants home, soon Americans will be working for the new US Saudi Government. Yes we will see change but not like we thought. The Media is lying for the money and working for the corrupt White House. What’s so surprising is how dumb Americans have become. Immigrants know more about the US Government and American History then American citizens. It was so sad to what the people of Michigan vote for Romney as he lied and promised to bring back the car industry knowing it will never happen. So Mitt sees it worked so he’ll move on to lie to other State voters. McCain wants to make War with Iran and stay in Iraq for 10,000 years. He’s problem is Lieberman will move from VP to President and Isreal will be in charge of the US. I guess Americans don’t mine having a Nuclear War as the US will have no allies at all.

Kevin, I work for the DoD on an overseas military installation and I can tell you, it’s a big deal. Perhaps it’s different inside the continental U.S. but I had butterfingers once while fishing and lost my wallet over the side of the boat in 1993 (prior to the days of terrorists being behind over tree and under every bed) and the base security guy asked me, “did you think about going in after it?”
Now, if you lose an ID card, YOUR BOSS is required to submit a statement on your behalf and you have to submit a written statement explaining how you lost it. They also hit us with “protect your ID” propaganda on AFN (overseas military TV and radio).
It’s a big deal.

They also hit us with “protect your ID” propaganda on AFN (overseas military TV and radio).
When I was watching those in the 90s, I was always perplexed at the TV spot urging you not to let others see your ID because some would love to know what they looked like so they could create fakes. At the end of the spot they put up a full screen picture of a sample ID.

Depending on the context and sentence structure, “Former Republican Congressman” tends to be more grammatically correct than “Republican former Congressman”.
How about: former republican congressman and currently a traitorous republican scumbag terrorist-supporter?
I like it.
It will work, but by putting the “former” before republican, you eliminate republican from describing the scumbag terrorist-supporter. He is a current republican, former congressman, now terrorist-supporter.

If you go to debbieschlussel.com, the blog of Debbie Schlussel, and scroll down to the “What Happened to My Former Boss Mark Siljander?: Indicted for Helping Islamic Charity That Funded Al-Qaeda, Taliban” post, what is extraordinary is that her conclusion about the incident involving her former boss was this:
“If Mark Siljander was helping Islamic terrorists against America, then no-one is immune from succumbing to these forces of evil. If true, it’s extremely disappointing and demoralizing to me.”
I was about to make the same comment when I saw that Andy nailed it. Can you imagine someone declaring that they were anti-semitic before it was even popular. Same difference.

OK. So to use that line of thinking, since Timothy McVeigh was an army vet and since he killed so many people we should not allow army vets to remain in the country.

Most excellent observation! And it’s funny how so many of us missed that — with conservatives constantly trashing Islam and Islamist beliefs, it’s amazing how one’s eyes can gloss over causing one to forget YOU DON’T TRASH ISLAM. YOU TRASH TERRORISTS. And for ignorant hillbillies who think they’re one-and-the-same, think of the 99.99% of Arabs and Persians who DON’T set off bombs, think Timothy McVeigh, think the abortion clinic bombers and shooters, think of the 1996 Atlanta Olympics bombing, think of the Birmingham, Alabama bombing that killed four girls….all of whom were committed by….drumroll, please….RIGHT WING terrorists.
Luckily our federal, state and local law enforcement agencies have the perfect fix for that last inconvenient truth: Put PROGRESSIVE groups, including anti-war groups, under surveillance.

Here’s how I would write it: The former republican congressman and current republican lobbyist and terrorist supporter, and also known antithesis of Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, who is running on a campaign to limit the effectiveness of all lobbyists, whether they be terrorist supporters or not…
Yes, it’s extremely lengthy but it leaves no doubt as to the ties to the republican party and gives John Edwards a plug to boot!

2. Debbie used to be a short-haired brunette. Now she’s a long-haired, Faux News, Conservative blond.
3. Debbie, per her own blog, said she started working for the Congressman while in high school, and claims that she wrote speeches and taught him Hebrew. A Conservative Born Again Congressman hired a teenage girl to write his speeches and teach him Hebrew? Paging Mark Foley.
4. Debbie’s blog site shows a picture of a trim blond. Debbie, as per Faux News, has put on a fair amount of weight and at least one extra chin.
5. The Faux News blond anchor showed ample cleavage. Debbie did not.

Funny…usually, when ordinary people “need the money”, they ask the bank for a loan or get a second job or put their house up for sale or something like that. For that matter, I very much doubt that most “ordinary people” make even half as much money as an ex-Congresscritter. No…people who sell their souls and/or sell out their country are generally motivated by greed, not need.

Simply doing violent extremists’ work for them by helping and abetting them at every opportunity: - Helping getting the message of out. Help spreading the message of terror and fear. Planting the seed of an agressive response and panic that might hurt ones own society by threatning Democracy and human rights. Doing EXACTLY what every Islamic terrorist wants by giving them a platform to scare people with. - Helping with funds.
