Its an interesting question er, but I think (and if there's a proshares guru lurking perhaps they can confirm because i ain't that smart) that it can indeed theoretically approach zero but never hit zero since the prospectus states that it tracks 2x the daily % change. For example, theoretically if the SPY goes up 2% a day every day then the SDS will lose 4% a day every day but never quite hit zero, no reset necessary. Extreme example of course.
