I had a similar experience with one of my early purchases of INTC (in 1995). I spent every day for several months watching it track flat/down. Of course, it's up over 400% since then, so I'm glad I believed the people and the instincts that told me to be patient and to take a longer perspective. Just when the short-term chart suggests it's about to poop out, whoosh, it's off and running again -- and I'm left wondering why I didn't buy even more during the pause(s).
