Alan and others on the board---

While everyone watched the debate-----I went a different direction. I listened to an interview that included Geraldine Ferraro discussing Hillary and Obama's campaign with call in's nationwide.

The focus was on the treatment of Hillary in this campaign by the media, scurrilous remarks being made about Hillary, contrast in experience between Hillary and Obama and ,of course, why we do not yet have a woman President.

Two significant remarks were made, paraphrased-----"If Obama were a woman with the same credentials as he now has, the media would not consider him qualified to be President."

Ferraro also took on the contrast in Hillary's voting in Congress on Iraq ------whereas, Obama was not in the Senate in 2002, thus no one knows how he would have voted.

The final comment of the evening made by Ferraro ---paraphrased----if Hillary is not the nominee "McCain needs a woman for VP" as he would likely take some of the women's vote i.e. the vote that went for Hillary.
