Re: Rocket

Talked to sales today and was told Syquest would be announcing the Rocket (pricing, etc) at COMDEX. Was told they hope to be shipping it by the end of the year.

Emory, Thanks for the update. Just wanted to clarify: I assume it was someone from Syquest's Sales Department that gave you both pieces of information? (not someone in sales at CompUSA or Merisel for example). Correct?

This info is very interesting. If the SparQ and Rocket details are both accurate, then it would appear the exising SyJet would soon be a dead product. Hmmmmm.

Somehow I find it hard to believe that even the EdHeads would treat their existing customers so poorly. But I also can't imagine Syquest manufacturing three high-end removables (SparQs, SyJets and Rockets) at the same time.

Perhaps the answer lies in some sort of SyJet/Rocket product that incorporates the Rocket technology into the existing SyJet and allows for high capacity improvements and backward compatibility. Just a thought.

Regards - Dale
