Straw man.

I don't know how many times I've said research is done in Europe.

But we have the same kind of issue here with our insurance plans.

But when you have "single payer", then one organization gets to make the decision.

Also there is the crucial difference that if your insurance pays for drug X, but not drug Y, you can pay for drug Y yourself without losing the payment for drug X.

The controversy here is not "the NHS won't pay for Avastin", but rather "the NHS won't pay for other drugs if the patient is also receiving Avastin.
