With the popularity of Microsoft Access, I'm not sure how many people still use Visual dBase or would choose it for new development. It has to be making some contribution, or Borland wouldn't be continuing development for it. I wouldn't expect much, though.

Also, the market seemed to respond negatively towards the announcement at the open.

Borland's strength lies in Delphi, Borland C++, C++Builder, and JBuilder (in that order, in my opinion). I could be way off base on this, but that's how I see things.
