TG-alt, any dividends in excess of earnings are treated as return of capital in U.S., effectively changing the basis of the SFUN shares, and therefore also the SPSN shares received later.

But maybe it's uncertainty about stuff like this that resulted in the drop. I noticed that the entire early drop in SFUN appeared to occur on a 100 share trade.
