Hello all,

At least one shareholder is making money!

NEW YORK (AP) -- Ronald Hovsepian, the president and chief executive of networking software maker Novell Inc., received a compensation package valued at $7.3 million in 2007, according to a proxy statement filed Wednesday.

Hovsepian, who has served as CEO since 2006, received a base salary of $825,032 and nearly $2.3 million in cash incentive plan compensation, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

His perquisites totaled $41,923 and included $9,000 in 401(k) contributions from the company, $18,687 in deferred compensation matching contributions and $7,396 for financial planning. Hovsepian was also compensated $1,850 for a physical.

In addition, he was awarded stock options that the company valued at $4.2 million on the dates they were granted.

Woohoo! An $1850.00 physical! And $7396.00 for financial planning ... most likely on how to preserve his assets no matter what happens to NOVL ...
