The company said that the product is one in a series of continuous speech recognition products -- including offerings for continuous dictation pathology and general business -- that it plans to bring to the market by the end of this year (12/31). Kurzweil VoiceCommands allows users to speak naturally and understands a variety of commands for any given action. Other Microsoft Word compatible products available today have a limited and rigid set of commands which the user must memorize and employ. Comment and Note: It is very interesting this release would be issued 1) on a Sunday 2) Without a SoftQuad Co-L&H or SoftQuad contemporaneous news release 3) and mentions Alpha as its retail distributor 90 days before contract termination 4) L&H and Alpha are both located in Burlington, Mass and 5) is one of several such products to be released prior to 12/31/97 or prior to Kurzweil contract termination implying there are several more Kurzweil voice rec products Alpha would have the contractual right to distribute unless they just happen to be cooincidentally released on January 1, 1998... |
