Tony; It is of course possible that we are both correct in part, however I have to think that the high end is populated with assorted work stations from Sun, SGI etc and other dedicated pixel engines for manipulating digital data. I am prepared to agree Apple could still have strength in analog work. And thus there is a middle ground with Apple strong and the WIntels at the lower end and Amigas in there too.Obviously the Wintels are not good enough for fast animation with high resolution(for full film screen, not TV) as that is still the realm of those SGI etc pixel engines. However I feel that the Wintels are expanding, and the Apples are at best static, and thus suffering comparative share loss. I do not doubt that you work with Apples on a recurring basis, do good work and are fully competent in your field, however I must also give credence to my friend who is at least your equal in professional stature. I thus think that I am not spreading misinformation, as I am quite prepared to get you price lists and web sites for the Wintel non linear editing expansion. You might be surprised. A funny phenomena is the disappearance of distinctions like 'prosumer', once you get to the full digital level all the rest comes easily, so these low cost suites are capable of very professional work in the right hands.(there is still the 'art', which so far eludes the digital onslaught(for long?)).
