The reason I posted the story is because it should be a cautionary note on what will happen when there is more reliance on "unreliable" sources (solar, wind) without "reliable" capacity to back it up.

The amount of power generating capacity added from these sources does not necessarily mean that the "reliable" capacity can be take off-line and dismantled. So the real cost of wind and solar energy is the cost plus the cost of back up capacity that needs to be in place in case it is not windy or sunny.
