2/29/08 update If only it wasn't a Leap Year, stocks would have had an OK week. So, you can blame today's massacre on Pope Gregory. Because of Pope G.'s extra day, instead of a positive week the Nasdaq Composite Index closed off -14.36% YTD (vs. -13.16% YTD a week ago). Although also a victim of the Friday assault, the Nasdaq Biotech Index did manage to maintain a bit of its gain, closing Friday off -6.10% YTD (vs. -7.52% YTD a week ago). And the Contest portfolios held on even better, with the median closing off -7.90% YTD (vs. -10.43% YTD a week ago). At Friday's close, 6 of the 33 Contest portfolios were in the black YTD and 14 were beating the NBI. ROBERT's portfolio maintained its lead, closing the week up 34.6%. NIGEL's portfolio was still in second place, with an 8.6% YTD gain. Enjoy the weekend folks! Below is the Top Ten list on 2/29/08:
