My God!
How in the name of all that's holy... unholy... and agnostic can this country sit still for a 5 TRILLION DOLLAR bung hole of TORTURE and WAR CRIME... that's driven over 6 MILLION people out of their homes... over 4 MILLION of them entirely out of their country... piled up over 90,000 "friendly" casualties... an even higher number of uncounted civilian casualties... ripped the country's infrastructure and society to pieces... and for absolutely NO REASON WHATEVER that can be found outside the incredibly small, defective mind of one George Bush and Dick Cheney!???
Throw in the 8 straight years of record breaking fraud and corruption from DAY 1 of this putrid hell spawn of an administration and there is simply no excuse... either the people of this country must force these filthy dogs to answer for their criminal actions under the law... or admit that there is no American law but MONEY... and nothing in the Constitution and Bill of Rights is worth more than a small roll of toilet paper.
If Bush and Cheney don't BOTH at least visit, if not die in, prison... it won't matter who you "elect" to take their place. You might as well take this country and its FORMER principles of justice and democracy and flush it all down the drain. You'll be finished... through... all over but the crying. You can't sweep this much dirt under any rug in an information age. History won't let you. The rug is already covering a small slag heap. Do the math:
Nixon Administration: Covers up burglary, paranoid persecution of private citizen/enemies ... Run out of town, Pardoned and subsequently resurrected.
Regan Administration: Illegal arms sales, drug smuggling "for freedom," death squads "for peace"... Investigated/Deposed/Forgets Then flies off to make millions and live in California.
Clinton Administration: Runs amoral Animal House, lies to your face and blames you... Lots of screaming. Looses Law License and makes millions.
Bush II Administration: War Crimes Out The Wazoo, Financial Crimes of Shocking Proportion... Punishments? Justice? ...WHERE?
Notice a trend here? What's left for the next "Right to Life" thieves who take the White House? ...Genocide in Memphis? ...What haven't they already stolen?
Over 20 million Mark of the Beast, End-Time Hand-wringer, Rebuild The Temple, Creationist, Raptureans;
Over 7 million jailed civilians;
Over 11 million unauthorized immigrants;
Over 3 million active street/criminal gang members;
Over 5 million Wackotopian, racist, bigoted, xenophobic paranoid tubes;
Over 5 million JFK/MLK/RFK, WTC, UFO/ET, Bigfoot, Aids/WMD/Etc conspiracy nuts...
Even assuming some gross overlap here... you've still got 30 million so called adults in this country, at the very minimum, who are not prone to believe, trust or "like" the necessary institutions of secular government... even under the most enlightened, honest, just and fair administrations.
Throw in the increasing millions of plain old fashioned dirt poor working stiffs, living hand to mouth, and then consider the impact of this recurring trend of "free lunch" criminals at the top who trundle off with golden parachutes and Presidential Libraries instead of prison terms and justice.
What's going to happen when you put this pot under the pressure of some real catastrophe that hits the entire country? And stresses every city... not just New York? Every coast... not just the Gulf Coast?
How are you going to maintain a social order when everyone knows the people at the top of that order answer to no law, regardless of their crimes? George V should have been so lucky. Today Barack Obama is capturing the hearts and minds of the disaffected but all he's asking of them is their vote. Who will come after him if he fails... and the criminal procession goes on unabated and unpunished?
Every culture rewrites history in order to polish the image and to diminish the failures it records. But no rewrite can avoid the costs that history always demands. Presidents may get a "free lunch" from their people... but no country ever has. |
