Neolib,

I am an agnostic on whether or not GW is man made - I do not doubt that it has been warmer lately than when I was young.

My basic position is that if it is man made - then it will be. (If it is solar cycle made - then it will be.) The demographics of the world make it so. In saying this I am using the argument of the GW alarmists that the tipping point is supposedly near. If it is near there is absolutely nothing that can be done now. If it is not near - then the alarmists are just that - alarmists.

I see only nuclear power as a meaningful way to reduce CO2 emissions without crashing the economy. We can do all of the wind and solar stuff we want - if it saves energy from oil - then fine - but they will only impact around the edges.

The US population is growing. To accomodate the growth the economy must grow. Perhaps we can reduce the rate of energy consumption as a function of energy growth - but I find it essentially impossible to turn the battleship around in short notice.

Bob
