Rightwing smears against Obama won't work. The first thing everyone notices about Obama is his name. So that's dismissed with right away. Next they notice he's half-black. So that's contemplated but dismissed as soon as you hear him speak and see how intelligence and righteous he is. Also how he beat powerhouses like Hillary and Edwards even in nearly all-white states. Third, you figure he must be a liberal. But liberal smiberal. Liberals were right about Iraq and if they had had their way we would still have a sound economy and a strong military. The Bush rightwing has ruined our military and our economy. You cannot deny that. Their policies, most of which McCain wants to continue, have been atrocious failures. Therefore, if you care about this country (and I guess you don't) who cares about labels, race, names, whatever. The key is ANSWERS and yes CHANGE-CHANGE-CHANGE. 80% of this country believes we need a change of direction. Most of them want that new direction to be more honest and progressive. And if we don't go that way, we are sunk.
