Lest anyone forget, the automotive and industrial base of Detroit continues to disintegrate with every tick of the clock. Demand for housing is therefore awful, but it can get even worse than awful -- much worse -- and that includes all the refugee satellite neighborhoods out e.g. in Dearborn or behind the gates of Grosse Pointe Shores as well as the inner city

I would describe trying to pick a bottom in Detroit RE right now to trying to throw that cute short pass over the middle into the flat -- it only looks like it's there to you because you can't see over your own line, and the other team's middle linebacker will put the big hurt on you if you try to throw it

My advice is to stay away entirely, but if you can't resist the urge, at least pick a city with a future
