Various analyst reports. Basically, they say the UK decision irrelevant, nothing really to do with the 3G dispute. JP Morgan report, 3-3

• UK case not stayed (Del) was decision was imminent and Nokia (who requested the exclusion) felt comfortable it would successfully defend itself. Believes the ruling was anticipated by both sides.

• We strongly believe the entire set of GSM patent lawsuits QCOM lodged against Nokia were ill-conceived and off-point to the main disagreement between the two companies which is focused on 3G royalties – not on GSM – and therefore we believe Nokia’s UK win, while poignant, is irrelevant to the ongoing disagreement."

• The Delaware consolidation now becomes the main story for
QCOM and excpect the EC will wait for the Del decision

• JP Morgan also believes the concept of QCOM splitting itself into two pieces is counter to what it is trying to achieve in Delaware. QCOM fought for language in the consolidation that would have prevented either side from spinning-off its IPR into a holding entity in order to subvert the consolidation proceedings. This leads JP Morgan to believe it has no intention of splitting itself.
