The people who are "just walking away" are going to be in for a very rude awakening when they try to buy another house. I just signed on for a complete Fico package on myfico.com, just to see what a bankruptcy would do to my Fico score. Dropped it 250 points! I have made it my goal to get an 850 (perfect) Fico score so when I start seeing good deals in the housing market I will buy something (not this year, not going to try to catch a falling knife!) Maybe student housing where my younger son will go to grad school in a couple of years.
