Maybe "significant extent" would be better than "great extent".

Also if your measuring people without jobs you would look at the labor force participation rate. Not the full-time equivalent employment rate, because that can change up or down without the percentage of employed people (as full time shifts to part time, part time shifts to full time, or part time hours move up or down)

The labor force participation rate would have decline slightly in recent years but it would still be noticeably higher than the preceding decades.

It might decline in the coming years, but if so that would have more to do with a possible recession or at least slow down in the short run, and with the aging of the baby boomers in the longer run.
