The problem with using LFPR to somehow disprove the negative employment impact of foreign trade is that it masks both being unemployed and having reduced employment.

Combine both LFPR and the unemployment rate and you have no masking of the unemployed.

As for "having reduced employment" -

Stats are available for people who are employed part time, but the problem with using those to measure "reduced employment" is that many part time workers don't want to work full time. So I'm not sure of any good stat to measure "reduced/under" employment.
