Even if I could find it, unfortunately thanks to the wisdom of Microsoft and the Vista O/S, I don't have a working flat bed scanner anymore, just a large flip-top paperweight

If the truth be known, my scanner didn't work with XP either -- I had it hooked up to a Win98 machine because it had working drivers, but that box has since gone to PC heaven

Stubborn prick that I am, I refused to buy another scanner on principle -- interestingly, I gave this same rant last fall about Vista similarly not supporting my legacy network laser printer

The equally evil HP doesn't offer a Vista-compatible driver for that older printer either, so I send print jobs to my XP station and print from there -- I refuse to buy a new printer

There are some really good reasons that MSFT is still trading at the same price it was 10 years ago, not the least of which is that they don't give a rat's ass about their user base
