There is a lot of interesting, & more importantly - promising work being done in the labs in the effort to combat HIV. Although a lot of this is incredibly promising - most of it that is dealing with attacking the HIV virus in ways that are totally different then the current methods are at least 3 years away from being available as an HIV treatment. Anti-fusion research is another incredibly exciting area, not only for HIV, but other viral infections.
