I think most of the people that read this board miss the point of Slider's posts.

It's not about making each individual call....

More importantly, its an effort to get people to open their eyes and realize you need to understand the markets from a different perspective. Once you understand that the system is set up to separate you from your money....well...you have to learn how to play the game. And it is nothing but a game.

I for one, have benefited quite well and appreciate the insight posted here. Not just from Slider but even some of the posters that challenge his posts. In context, this board gets you to open your mind and...think. The follow the herd mentality sooner or later falls off the cliff every time. Slider's motto could be "get there first"....lol

Over the years you start to see the same patterns develop over and over again. Understanding why....is knowledge that makes money.

My attempt to "get there first" has been to purchase agricultural land. Nice row crop ground for growing wheat, corn and soybeans. I thought I was doing pretty good as I watched the commodities setting new highs day after day.

Then I learned about crop insurance....It's the epitome of "heads I win...tails you lose".
