More generally I'd say that the evidence that in the long run trade increases prosperity is greater than the evidence for most statements about climate change (except perhaps the most basic and uncontroversial like "climate changes over time", "human activity can effect climate", "CO2 is a greenhouse gas", etc.)

But "the long run" can be over a longer time than most people might be considering when they make statements about policies, and also "trade increases prosperity", doesn't say that any policy which increases trade is automatically positive, or that any policy which restricts trade is automatically negative, it would just show a general tendency in that direction.
