Bill - Here's a nice Review Of Sanders

Bear in mind - although this article is critical of Sanders, it was written months before AMD's disappointing Q2/97 and many months before AMD's most recent disastrous Q3/97.

Enjoy!

Sanders generally spends three days a week in Sunnyvale, according to AMD President Richard Previte. But Sanders also works out of an office in Southern California, and "can be chief executive anyplace there's a
telephone," adds Previte.

(Electronic Business Today repeatedly requested an interview with Sanders for this story, but was told that he was unavailable.)

A former AMD executive, who spent a dozen years working
under Sanders, contends that the frequent absences of AMD's
chairman leads to a heavy reliance by Sanders on a handful of
key subordinates. That dependence often ends up giving
Sanders an unrealistic view of the company's situation,
according to the former executive, who spoke only on the
condition that his name not be disclosed.
