John:

I use the wsj and have uncovered valuable information from it that has kept me from making some bad decisions. However, I do not accept the editorialized information their writers are paid to put out. (Hmm, I wonder if they are getting paid more than once).

While I agree the direct news about Intel seems to have a negative bias the indirect news has been incredibly positive. There was a two week stretch where PC manufacturers left and right were announcing new models of PC's with "Intel inside". Not coincidentally, intc was rising an average of 3/4 pts a day during this stretch. Even today's wsj included the following:

"Hewlett-Packard Co. is expected to introduce a new line of workstation computers that use chips from Intel Corp. and an operating system from Microsoft Corp. The move means that H-P is now fully engaged in two separate, but related, industry battles....... Several of H-P's new systems contain two 200 megahertz Pentium Pro chips, Intel's latest microprocessor."

Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. It is fact-based information like the above that really matters and has made me a long term investor in intc. Just hope IBM doesn't buy out Cyrix.

Best Regards,

Greg Gimelli
