Eight million is nothing. That figure surprised me! I wondered how much of the large number was young people who made the choice not to carry insurance or families who could, but preferred to buy a boat or go to Hawaii (like some friends of ours). I think I mentioned somewhere that tort reform and pharmaceutical advertising are two serious problems for the system as it is (or was). Controlling costs and working on the factors that broke the system of course takes a while, and people aren't terribly patient. One of the reasons I like Obama is that I do believe we should cover all children. While I certainly want affordable health care, I don't yet understand how it will be done, nor who will pay for it. It's still too much of a pig in a poke for me to sign on.
