Let's not forget our failed invasion of Iraq which is also a major factor in oil being over $100. After all oil was around $30 pre-invasion.

Had the invasion gone as advertised: quick hand off to a stable peaceful Iraq producing and exporting much more oil than under Saddam, we'd have much lower oil prices today. But Iraq's oil production went down and the region became more unstable, two factors in higher oil prices.
