Ilaine -

It seems like the best option, but it does have serious drawbacks.

There's the problem of people who don't qualify for self-coverage because of their medical histories. There's the problem of the fact that the insurance companies costs are all added on to the overall cost of healthcare. And there's the problem of forcing doctors to deal with dozens of different companies with dozens of policies each, and having to employ extra people just to sort all of that out.

Seems damned inefficient to me.
