>>Obama outspent Hillary 2:1 and still couldn't beat her with a press core that has been giving him a pass.<<

Pat -

I think that part of the problem for Obama in the past couple of weeks is that the press stopped giving him a pass. That, and the fact that Hillary's last minute negative kitchen sink attack was just effective enough, and Obama didn't respond well enough. To be fair, he really didn't have much time to respond.

There's no question that the Republicans would like to see the Democratic primary battle drag on, generating as many bad feelings as possible among both camps. And it looks like the Dems are going to let them have their way. Already, I'm starting to feel like I won't enjoy voting for Hillary in November if it comes to that. Just a few weeks ago, I would have been perfectly happy to vote for her.

Once again, the Democrats may find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. If they do that this year, it will be an amazing accomplishment, given the advantage they started with.

But McCain still has that stinking albatross around his neck, which became even more obvious today as he accepted Bush's endorsement.
