No, not on this thread, but on SI. And not all that recently.

I haven't seen anyone on this thread disparage the idea of having supplemental plans available to those who want and can afford them.

I haven't seen that exact point discussed either. I don't think I've ever discussed supplementation of the single-payer before. I'm not sure that even makes sense. After all, single-payer connotes, duh, single payer, not supplemental payers. I'm extrapolating from their adamance that their be no tiers of service.

For some people, health care reform is all about fairness and fairness means the same quality of service for those who cannot pay, not something that those of us who can afford it would perceive as needing supplementation.
