My girlfriend tells me that there are private clinics in Canada where people who don't want to wait for this or that can go, if they are willing to pay out of pocket.

She finds our system exasperating, confusing, and barbaric. Incidentally, she has also lived in England. And she's had cancer, too, when she was living in Canada.
