Fran, we had a dog that loved to climb trees, and did when there was a possum or other creature to go after. A problem always arose when it came time for him to descend the tree, as he was limited to "Up" when it came to trees. It meant getting a ladder and giving him an assist. He was a spaniel-mix/mutt and was bob-tailed. His spaniel mom would usually produce at least one bob-tail in each litter.
