Buying a car is one of the nicest thing you can do to the state budget here :-)
A normal new apartment in Copenhagen city or a decent 1000-2000 sq.feet house in a suburb is $700,000. If you go 30 miles away from the city, you can go down to $400,000 for a similar house. If you want something bigger than 2000 sq. feet in Copenhagen area, that is less than 30 years old, the cheapest houses currently for sale are $1 million. Here is one in an area that I'd consider cheap, with the busiest Copenhagen railroad as neighbor:
robinhus.dk (2580 square feet, $1.2 mio).
Some other numbers: - Standard wage for working 37 hours per week taking care of children: $42,000 per year - Standard pay when unemployed (unless you have special insurance): 32,000 per year - At McDonald's the lowest wage is $22 per hour.
As you can see, buying RE in other countries is not a huge investment, and a lot are doing so. Everybody seems to have some RE somewhere in another country... I want to join the party, but I don't want to spend time on managing property somewhere else, so I'm still looking for an easy solution. |
