Bull markets will do anything to buck you off. It is never what "should" happen...if it was everybody would get rich. That is why TA is so important and relatively simple TA at that. Most of the large miners have done exactly what they should do to this point. They are discounting a lower gold price than we are trading at now but this is due to two things: 1) The wrong belief of the market that gold will correct from this level. The same thing was true after energy broke above $50 for the first time. The oil stocks did not reflect that move until oil kept moving towards $60 and then the energy stocks went up 200%. One would expect the same thing to happen with gold and gold stocks over the coming weeks as the notion that gold will correct from this level is proven wrong. 2) The fact that the margins of the large miners have been under pressure. This changed this quarter and will move evident in the coming quarter. Earnings estimates will move much higher and the stocks will respond. The quality junior stocks with know deposits like ARU, OSK, BCM (don't own these) all look to be in IT consolidations over the past couple of years. These all look to break much higher in the coming months. Textbook consolidation on weekly. Exploration stocks will move or not move based on their own merits. In the coming couple of years most anything gold will move but there is a lot of crap out there. Some day crap will fly but one needs to do the DD to find the gems. Or one could hold cash:( and yes I had my Wheaties this morning
