IMO-That maybe true for them, but I've noticed a pick up in activity in corporate deals. The private equity PR you provided indicates that to some extent. Corporates flush with cash are trying to pick up bargains. Lower stock prices are helping. I've also noticed some are taking offers directly to shareholders. IMO- Foreign corporations are now taking advantage of the weak dollar. Corporate takeovers by sound companies is one area I think banks and financial institutions will continue to lend with open arms. Hopefully the margin call continues working. Making those speculating on borrowed monies liquidating assets to meet margin requirements. IMO there could be some continuing liquidation of sounder asset positions. Thereby possibly creating more special situation opportunities down the road, in the market.
