"ARMs are great" - Alan Greenspan? Bernnake voted with him. Bush and Congress looked the other way in the name of "the ownership society" while the Mortgage companies and crooks on Wall Street operated. Hey, their house prices went up too. The warm and fuzzy feeling you know. Congress loaded Real Estate with tax breaks prior to the bubble.
