Setting aside Harris for the moment, from what I can see, the US educational system is based on the premise that our pre university educational system is substandard compared to other first world countries, and maybe even third world countries. However, our universities are first rate. I can't help but think this is a messed up way to educate your young. Are you familiar with the premise, and to your knowledge, has it always been this way?
