Still, the results seem to indicate that it isn't all that awful. For one, Americans seem to be able to exist in the best university system in the world. In addition, as adults, their knowledge seems to be ok. I agree that as adults Americans do okay. However, even if its not as bad as some complain, how did we come to the conclusion that its better to pour your resources into a good university system but stint on the schools that supply those universities. I don't expect anyone has the answer; that its an approach that simply developed over time. However, I have to believe its a risky way to educate.
