OT:

All it takes to get $200 ($USD) oil is $6.00 ($USD) gasoline. As I and numerous ohters have often pointed out, gasoline at that price provides little deterrent to driving in the UK and in Europe, although it does encourage more economical cars.

The United States residential patterns demand the use of the automobile and the transition from DUVs to plug-in electrics will not be quick.

This may mean, however, that nice central-city condos and apartments gain a lot relatively in value over the suburbs. There are big bets already being made on that where I live.
