I think you are trying to imply I wouldn't want Iraq to get better, and I'd like the economy to crash so the reps look bad. I've got news for you, I don't love the dems that much- I don't know anyone who does.

My fear is that the trajectory is set- in which case I'd much rather have the reps blamed for what (imo) they caused.

A dramatic improvement in Iraq might be bad news for the dem party (but would not be bad news for me)- but it would only be bad news for the dems if the reps pull the troops out (which is what Americans seem to want. )

Do you not think part of the reason the dems won congress and might win the white house is because Iraq is such a ball of crap? Do you feel that the country is a bit angry about the Iraq war, and the folks who peddled it? If the economy is bad, the party in charge generally gets the blame- whether or not that's "fair". Would you not agree? We'd probably all prefer our party, whatever it is, did not get the blame for such cyclical catastrophes. Or so I would think.
