I get an annual physical nowadays. At the last one my doctor found a blip in my heart rate, like a false beat, and required me to undergo a stress test, which I passed with flying colors. I then sent him pictures of places I went on foot last summer, and he said "Well, if you can go places like that we sure wasted a lot of money on a stress test."

I'm convinced that exercise and good diet are key factors. We eat very little processed foods any more, and try to exercise regularly. If I'd stayed at my desk job in Alaska, I'd probably be underground by now.

My daughter's intended had a rough year, much like your son's. Last year his boss, a Lt. Col., died unexpectedly at age 38. A couple weeks ago a technician in his lab was murdered along with her husband, and her baby taken. You probably heard about that on TV.
