Not suggesting that the two issues are minor, but I'm not sure in this context the consequences are major. Regardless of the attitude of the winner re the war, there aren't a lot of choices. Obama can't clear out and McCain can't escalate. I would not expect them do act much differently. Re the SC, there's probably only one choice to be made. While a McCain presidency would cost the opportunity to get a strong liberal in there, a McCain presidency wouldn't likely move the court to the right. Major issues, not so major consequences.
