I heard her full statement, and it's really being twisted.

It was in a speech. She said 'I have years of experience in foreign policy'. John McCain has years of experience in foreign policy. Barrack Obama has a speech he gave.

Then she goes on to say something along the lines of "john McCain will be running in the fall for the very important job of commander-in-chief based on his experience in foreign policy. Who do you want running against John McCain?

She's not claiming that McCain would make a better commander-in-chief than Obama would. She's trying to tell the audience that in a contest with McCain, she has foreign policy experience just like McCain does so the voter would face a tougher choice.

Whereas in a contest between McCain and Obama, the voters will be looking at one person (McCain) with a lot of the experience which prepares one to be commander-in-chief compared to another person (Obama) who doesn't have this experience.

The idea here is that we all know McCain will try to get elected on the strength of his committment to a strong foreign policy. In fact, that's almost all McCain can run on. The Dems have already co-opted every other important issue.

So she's asking voters to choose her over Obama, so that someone with foreign policy experience can go toe to toe with McCain in November.

It's just another variation of her effort to appeal to voters on the basis of she being more experienced than Obama. Her argument made sense to me. After all she must differentiate herself from Obama in the eyes of voters....this is a competition you know. And it's become a race between 'experience' and 'hope'.

She never said McCain would make a better commander-in-chief than Obama would....not even close.

But this twisted version is echoing around the blogs now and I saw that idiot John Kerry try to make the same lame claim on TV.

This campaign is really dumbing down people who don't watch closely and cross-check things.
