No - they should find the land and build a government owned array to provide power - or would they conclude a nuke plant is a better value?

Since we don't seem to be building either then it's hard to tell.

One clear winner is wind and another is geothermal.

If you follow FSLR then you will see their efficiency is getting better every quarter. They are approaching 'grid parity'. When that happens then they can probably stand on their own without subsidies... but right now they are dependent of foreign governments to subsidize and build scale.

Which again brings up back full circle... this is new stuff and needs the subsidies to get to the efficiency and mass production needed to achieve grid parity. It would happen a lot faster with US government participation.
