I don't mind at all having a fighter or two in the party to help balance things out

Hillary is really growing on me in ways that are hard to describe.

Way back there, I saw her as only getting where she was because of Bill, and it was a turn-off for me. I guess I thought she didn't have a right to be in the race, the whole thing was a little unseemly on some level. And I wasn't sure she or any woman could have as much gravitas on the world stage as a man.....that's my generation of woman speaking, always suspecting that we won't be taken seriously or actually won't stack up when the going gets rough.

In fact, way way back there, I dismissed the idea of her candidacy completely and thought she's be forced out early on in the process, i.e just fail to attract a following and drop off. I ignored her.

But then, because I work from my home and have one of the news channels going all day, I started to listen to her...both speeches and interviews....and I began to take her seriously, followed by a growing respect. But it was a begrudging respect, based on her intellect and command of the issues. I began to see her as prepared enough to have a legitimate stake in the race. Kind of like the son of the boss who has to prove to the rest of the company that he has actually done his homework and can work hard.

Somewhere in there I also suddenly saw her as very separate from Bill, not that they don't think alike, but that her strength is not coming from him at all. It was kind of a 'wow' experience...that she is clearly her own person and a force to be reckoned with...again back to the strength issue.

I also admire her strength in the face of a media onslaught that has tried to marginalize her candidacy every step of the way. And the sheer disrespect of her and then Chelsea popping out of various mouths, most recently Samantha Power. I don't know how she's kept herself emotionally intact.

But every step of the way she has seemed calm, refreshed, in control and on message. So yes, she has spine to spare. I can now easily picture her on the world stage. I think she would absolutely wear the Putins of the world to a nub while advancing the interests of the US.
