Seriously, we have moral standards in this country for our leaders, as double-standardized as they might be. Plus Spiitzer, like the rightwing tries to portray himself as clean and above sin, so this probably ends his career on hypocrisy alone.
But on the other hand, where does this stop? We almost made the most righteous president since JFK step down because he ggot handjobs out of wedlock. How much did that cost our country, a trillion dollars or more? And sleazy liars like Larry Craig and Rush Limbaugh got to keep their jobs, so --
Besides, prostitution is legal in half the world and decriminalized almost everywhere else. We are one of the few countries which actually puts hookers and johns in jail, all because of puritanical roots. We allow porno actresses to F for money but not hookers. We allow golddiggers to marry or be mistresses for money but not by the hour. And wasn't the wild west founded on prostitution?
So maybe we should all start thinking about legalizing it. After all it's the world's oldest profession and is going to happen anyway? So why just limit its legalization to Nevada, Tijuana, Bangkok, Dominican Republican and places like that? Why not keep those dollars and tax dollars in our own economy? same as marijuana.
