RESEARCH ALERT - SyQuest (NASDAQ:SYQT) upgraded

Reuters, Monday, October 13, 1997 at 15:13

NEW YORK, Oct 13 (Reuters) - HD Brous & Co Inc said on
Monday it raised its rating on shares of SyQuest Technology
Inc, which makes removable computer storage products, to a
speculative trading buy from neutral.
-- Analyst Howard Rosencrans said in a research note that
industry sources indicate SyQuest would soon announce a 1.0
gigabyte removable drive at a breakthrough opening price point
of $199.95.
-- "We believe that the market potential in the removable
segment for a 1.0 gigabyte product at this price point is
potentially very significant," he said.
-- The company would likely position the product as an
alternative to Iomega Corp's (NYSE:IOM) "Zip" and "Jaz" drives,
the firm said.
-- Shares fell 11/32 to 5-11/32.
